About us
With four decades of experience in health community programs
the institution has the purpose of improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable communities
of our state through actions that promote education
in favor of sexual and reproductive health. Additionally, it promotes empowerment,
social inclusion, diversity and gender equality.
Supera arises in a context of marginalized populations in urban areas. The most vulnerable populations in Mexico live in urban areas, in contradistinction to vulnerable populations in other countries, which live in rural areas.
There was lack of sexual information in these communities, so Supera decided to create a sexual health program with the purpose of improving the quality of life of all the people living in these less favored communities.
Since its inception, Supera has focused on supporting the most vulnerable communities in the state of Nuevo León, México. Today, the association has diverse programs that inform the population about sexual health issues.
At first, Supera had only one program called Distribución Básica Comunitaria. This program is still promoting and distributing birth control. In the 1980s, the institution developed an education and training program, and finally in 1997 the Young Adults, now called Supera Youth, was created. Gender equality, diversity and empowerment programs were created to improve life quality in people from Nuevo León.
Our vision is to become an institution with social leadership, recognized as educational agents locally and nationally.
in the sexual and reproductive health, family planning, human development and quality fields.
